The FA cup hymn 'Abide With Me' has been ruined in recent years by having someone lead the singing. I prefer to hear the crowd singing it.

Commands at the end of commercials such as "BUY IT NOW!"
Saw an ad for the Drifters' greatest hits. Decided to buy it then at the end of the ad was the command BUY IT NOW.
Now I wont be buying it at all.

Wearing trainers/sneakers with skirts.
Argh! It just drives me insane, it looks tacky and I get the urge to go up to people and tell them that sandals and other suitable footwear is available for such outfits.
Just a really personal petty hate. I know it's nothing to do with me and I never actually say anything, it just makes me cringe.

Chewing gum dumped anywhere other than a waste bin. Manchester's pavements are covered in the stuff. The city council must have decided to do something about it because there's been some kind of water jet device used over night to clean the stuff off a lot of the pavements. This not only removes the gum, but a lot of the dirt as well. This leaves an interesting wiggly pattern. Before I realised what this was I thought it was either a new form of graffiti or an Ats Council funded project. Anyway, I hate dog damn chewwy stuck all over the place.

People who think that I know the price of PCs and what would be a good buy for their kids for Christmas, just because I'm an IT Network Manager. I don't buy the odd PC to play games and surf the net at home, I buy hundreds of business PCs on a call-off contract.

People who spit in the street. Awhile ago I heard someone hawking and spitting behind me and then to my horror (it was a windy day) discovered my skirt hem had been gobbed all over! Ick. Total ick.

creachy,
Funny to YOU maybe
Okay, here's another one. People who say they are sorry when they aren't sorry at all.
It seems to be quite an English phenomenon. 'Oh, terribly sorry'. Which means nothing. I read somewhere once that the English are so 'polite' that they're rude. I think it was in a book by John Fowles.

I think creachy was laughing at Slartibarghlee, could be wrong though.
Today's petty hates:
Forgetting to pick up my dry cleaning.
Forgetting that I would need clean pants for after my post-gym shower.

hi Kelly,
Like your new tag - built for comfort not speed. Was actually quite a good blues song by that name, think it was Muddy Waters.
