With the exception of any members of the family itself, cus that would just a straight win for Homer. I'm talking supporting cast here, or one-offs if you like.
My favourite: Professor Frink. Very much a Lower Eggborough of a character (to quote from Meaning of Liff).

Sideshow Bob. His intellectualism wasted on a children's slapstick comedy show reminds me of my own position in among all the nutters on h2g2.

Apu! Get out of my shop and come again!

I quite like Comic Shop Guy as well (even though he ain't got a name!) for his razor sharp wit.
"Well Santos L Helper, if that is your real name Bart Simpson, your phoney credit card is of no use here!"

I quite like Apu as well. But only before he got married. That whole Squishy girl debacle was most unpleasant...

Can we include our favorite episode too? Because mine is "Homerpalooza"...not only does it have Homer receiving cannon balls to the gut, an inflatable pig, and sarky teenagers...it also stars the best band ever - The Smashing Pumpkins, and also casually drops in other cool-people like NIN and Sonic Youth and Cypress HIll...

Moe!
and that mad scientist guy. Reminds me of Beaker from the Muppets for some reason...

I also like Herman - the one armed Vietnam war veteran. He should feature more.
And all the ones that Phil Hartman did before he died...

Hey Mina, that mad scientist guy is Professor Frink!
So that's another point for ol' Frinkie!

"Yes Mother, I'm coming.....(One day I'll throw you in the lake - just like I did to that guy in 'Nam!")

Yeah, Sideshow Bob has to be on the shortlist, but I do have a soft spot for Automan/Otto, however you write it. He is one kool dude.
Oh yeah and Snowball's a star, and of course Itchy and Scratchy.
How the hell can you pick a favourite?!!
I suppose Simpsons smileys would cause copyright problems?

Yep. I was going to suggest a Homer smiley, but unless Matt Groening knows about this site, I doubt we'll get any!
You can't pick a favorite. I've decided.
Although, at this point, I would like to express my for Dr. Zoitberg in Futurama. It's another Matt Goerning baby, so I *think* that would still be on topic...
