They've all forgotten their roots. Arctic exploration, Hudson's Bay, Antarctic mountain ranges. Paaahhh! The colonies have conquored the cold, wot's with you lot?

We've got snow We've got snow We've got snow
The headmistress rang at 7am to say the school was closed. The kids are absolutely delighted. The were very when the southerners, easterners, westerners and northerners had so much trouble and they still had to go to school.
I think they've been doing a snow dance 'cos another blizzard's just started.

We have snow too! No schools closed down here yet, which is unlucky for all those who have their exams this week.
How odd will it look for me to go out and build a ?

We may have to use the Denver snow then - here it's too powdery to do anything with!

I agree with you there. I was praying that it wouldn't snow before I got home on Friday. Got stuck in a blizzard for 5 hours once, in a vehicle without a heater, just short of the summit of the last hill before home. 7 months pregnant, with 3 frightened children. The wind was so strong that I couldn't even walk a few steps in it - just got soaked to the skin within seconds.
We were rescued at 9.30 pm, by a squaddie in a land rover who'd ignored people's advice not to try to make it home that night (thank goddess). He had to carry the kids the few feet between vehicles and I only kept my feet with a lot of help (Pity I wasn't in the right frame of mind to appreciate it ).
Dread to think what would have happened if he hadn't come along because the first people past there were the police 3 days later (who were very angry with me for leaving the blankets in heaps where they'd fallen - they said they almost broke in because they couldn't tell whether there were bodies under them. What did they expect us to do for goodness sake - we were in such a state by the time we were rescued the last thing we were going to think of was tidying up! )

hehehe. Got home to find no electricity, so no central heating or hot water and large chest freezer defrosting with nothing to cook the food on. We made toast over a log fire for 3 days.
And the squaddie had to stay because we barely made it to the house - no way could he get out again. You should have heard the tongues wagging in the village afterwards.
