I think Anna's the only one who decided to post people she fancies
I certainly don't fancy Frostrup, just her voice.
Liv Tyler, now there's a voice and a body to play with.

You think you've got problems Orcus - If we're just posting names of people we fancy I've got some severe backpedalling to do to dig myself out of the hole I've dug for myself by posting Andrew Sachs' name
NOTE- I do not have a fetish for small, spanish waiters! ok?

Certainly don't fancy either of mine, but they both have very rich and emotive voices. Each in their own way of course!

I like a northern accent personally - Sara Cox from Radio 1 for instance.

Simul-simulpost, there. Slow down, guys.
How on Earth can anyone like the sound of Sara Cox's voice? It makes me want to break things.

When I was in my early adulthood, a friend of mine who'd gone up north to college and fell into some rather eclectic circles recommended a young female artist to me. I purchased her first album and was frankly thrown for a loop upon the intial listening. Her range was into the high screeching crescendos at times, and I wondered why on earth my friend wanted to betray our bond of brotherhood by suggesting this. I dug out the lyric sheet from the LP and noted the wordplay and sublime imagery, then put the album on again. The second go-round I was awakened to the lilting tone in the lady's voice, the passion with which she sang every line. I even heard her dip into the lower, darker realms of somber tones; something I'd missed at first. Were was she from? None other than England. I gazed into the eyes of the woman on the album cover and was drawn into the complexity of a mind that would fashion such a wide variety of tales and emotions set to music.
Kate Bush has a place in my heart and between my ears to this day.

Hey Master B,
Sean Bean you mean? Phwoarrr!
Michael Kitchen maybe, John Thaw, not really, and Dawn French, no, but she always seems to have very shiny hair!
Oh and if this question is turning into one about people you fancy with lovely voices, then I have to admit that I've always had a bit of a thing about Patrick Stewart. Yum. (thanks to Cheerful Dragon for the reminder).

No, not 100%. But 99-and-44-one-hundredths percent takes too long to type. Yes, I had little bit of "fun" with the posting, but I have been a fan of Kate's for many years. Wouldn't have traded the aural sax for anything.
I could tell you of a time I hoofed it back form a gasthaus in another town to Schoenecken, where I lived, with only Kate and her "Hounds of Love" album playing from my Walkman. The tune "Runnin' Up that Hill" came on just as I was cresting the hill out of town. "Little Light" gave me goosebumps as I rounded a bend and saw the lights of my town in the distance. An experience I'll not soon forget...

I'm just not quite sure how anyone can find the voice that sang 'Wuthering Heights' attractive.

Now, Master B, you're correct in your assessment of that one. It's one of her tunes I was referring to as "high screeching crescendos". It's like any other acquired taste, though, and my gray matter filters kick in whenever I hear it. Conversely, some of her other songs make my receptors go into overdrive, straining to glean eavery nuance of her emotional content. She paints some pretty vivid vocal pictures...

OOOh, just thought. Lorraine Kelly from breakfast TV has a very nice voice and just happens to look and sound like an aunt of mine.
A wee scots accent is lovely providing it's not too guttaral.

A soft Scots accent (e.g., from the Highlands and Islands) is one of the sexiest accents around, IMHO. A Glaswegian accent sounds hard and rough. I like Sean Connery's voice, but Gregor Fisher as Rab C. Nesbitt is dreadful.

Brian Perkins (THE voice of Radio 4), a deep authoritative voice who has, oddly enough, done an advertisement voice over for the Foo Fighters new album. Female choice: Kathleen Turner. Nuff said.
Key: Complain about this post
