I tried earplugs once, last year when I had unusually loud suitemates (that is, they were up till 3 am every night either drinking or having sex of some permutation or another or some combinatio thereof). It worked one night, but after that, the pressure in my ears drove me nuts. Plus, it made it hard for me to hear my alarm when it went off at 7am.

Trains - not their efficiency or anything (ha)but just travelling on them, reading a book or watching the countryside passing by.
Comfortable underwear. (Can it be comfortable AND sexy?)
An early night with a mug of cocoa and a good book.
Daisies.
A cold wet winter afternoon curled up on the sofa watching a good movie.

I'll agree with that one...
... and put in a vote for blankets in general. <warm&cozy>

I'd just like to add another vote for Adam Hart-Davis. The closing shot of last nights' show - Adam in Stuart dress walking across the Millenium Bridge - was simply priceless.

The comedy stylings of Ronnie Corbett.
The music of the Lo-Fidelity Allstars.
The acting genius that is Louis Jourdan.
...and Roger Moore.
My Two Dads.
Smoking Cigarettes.
Transformers the Movie.
Swearing (for it IS big AND clever)
Being on your own "for a bit"
The characters of Moe the Bartender and Skinner in The Simpsons. Cause everybody is always ranting on about Homer and he is nowhere near their league.
The writing of Hunter S. Thompson (except for Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas) and Chuck Palaniuck (except Fight Club).
Chris Morris.
Writing letters by hand on not on a f**king computer!
...that'll do!

...and what other film could have the combined talents of Orson Welles, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle and the Black bloke out of The Shining (also known as the late, great Scatman Cruthers...who's also underrated!)?!

Being able to draw. I'd give anything (except my right arm, being right-handed) to be able to put pencil to paper and be able to reproduce what I see in my mind's eye.
Reading non-fiction for purposes other than study. The quantity of fiction I read used to greatly out-weigh the amount of non-fiction. Now it's about equal, and I get as much pleasure reading the non-fiction as I do reading fiction.

Silence and solitude I'd go along with.
Also courtesy and good manners.
I'd add:
Gin and tonic (ice and lemon obligatory)
Pigs kidneys (fried)
Limburger cheese.
Jarlseburg cheese with home-made plum jam for breakfast.
Good company
Bad company
Rugby Union Football
Walking in the high hills
Real English Ale

Another vote for Adam Hart-Davies, he's always so enthusiastic , although as a bell ringer myself I was a bit worried when he attempted to hang himself on the dumb-bell in last nights programme.

Will Young- I don't think there's been such a talented singer for years. People need to see beyond the manufactured pop star/band hang-up everyone has and really listen to him sing. He has actually got a FANTASTIC voice and could sing anything - live too.

His voice has no soul, no feature of originality. He can carry a tune but so f******g what? If a voice doesn't have character then it isn't s***.
Look at Bob Dylan, the boy could hardly sing but the character in his voice more than made up for that.

MY goodness - were you a finalist who didn't get through or something ? Wow - chill out. Tolerance and the ability to string a sentence together without swearing is definitely under rated.
