Links added to my page too...
Isn't there a way to link to non-bbc sites using a link starting with www.bbc.co.uk/ ???
I'm sure I saw it used once back when we couldn't post direct links in conversations? That would fool the digibox into thinking it was looking at a bbc page and letting the link go through?
I've no idea where the conversation with the appropriate link is - it was over 6 months ago now!

Betsie might've been able to do that... something like www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/betsie?www.your.site.here.com...
But they've set it up to only allow BBC sites. Quite logical really.

hi everyone...
couldn't get in this morning....
re:BBC sites only... on telewest we can access some sites, leisure district being one of them, fish4jobs etc... but they don't give us an access to the web... we also have BBCi but ONCE AGAIN without the access to websites even h2g2 is not accessible through there...
the way we access here and the proper BBBCwebsite is with a link on an email... but yes at the end of the day only links to the DNA sites and BBC websites work... before telewest put the firewalls up peeps could access yahoo, google etc. through emails with the appropriate links... [definitely the good all times then...]
i dunno if this information help... i wish i could give THE clue that could help you solve the problem... would a list of all the sites on telewest TV interactive help?!...
anyway talk later... got some catching up to do...

It sounds like they've closed off the IP address other than certain ones in a list that they keep.
If this is the case then there's no way around it, not without breaking House Rules, which I'm not going to do.
You say that you recieve email through the same account. If you can recieve html email, and the reader is compatible, And they haven't twigged, there is a method whereby an entire webpage can be sent through email to you. If that webpage happened to contain links to other pages, then they would be accessible too.
It involves being sent a html email with an tag. The src for the iframe is set as the page you want to see, or more often than not, google. Then if you can see that, you can use your email programme as a web browser without bothering the IP blocks.
As strange as this sounds, it works more often than not. Depends on how thorough they've been setting up the blocks.
