I made the horrible mistake of actually arranging an outdoor activity in advance - a picnic supper this evening followed by a visit to the circus....*searches for the rubber dingy and sowester*

Longest roll of thunder I've ever heard (felt like 5 minutes but more likely 45seconds). Was going to leave work early today but looking at the weather I think I'll wait. Rain + Friday Evening + Tourists with cars so full they can't see out and the map in the bottom of the boot + M27/A31 = Long irritating drive home.

4.50 p.m. I think your thunder has reached me. Things are looking really great for this evening's picnic!!!! :=(

Blast, I can't even manage a 'sulky'!!!!

Picnic in the rain sounds cool (esp with thunder)- not as good as a bbq in the snow (I've done it before and I'll do it again) but should be managable - nip down to B&Q and buy one of those tenty/shelter thingies just be sure to earth it properly - oh and if you get struck by lightning keep your feet together.

Not stopped raining all day

Just back from picnic and circus. Still pouring with rain, but the thunder has gone. Although I took a brolly, I couldn't eat my food and hold the brolly at the same time (too windy) and so I got soaked. I wore my wellies (helps if there's lightening), so looked v. attractive. In typical English form, all the cars go stuck in the muddy field when they tried to leave.

The circus was good though!!

After a week in Spain where it was hot, sunny, and all in all pretty perfect I am back in the UK, where it is cold, cloudy and dull. *Exactly* like living in tupperware.

Fabulous. Sunny. Warm. Very summery! If I didn't have a job to do I would be out in abeer garden somewhere soaking it in!

10.45 Hertfordshire - not too warm today, quite windy and partly cloudy which is driving me insane!! The sun keeps shining really brightly then popping back behind clouds then shining again - it's like someone switching the lights on and off again lots of times and I keep having to pull the curtain across my window so that I can see my monitor then open it again when it's gone all dark in here.
