When they were just babies, we used the following mantra:
Plan, do, plan, do, plan, do...
Now they are older I guess it's more like any family with 2 kids within a couple of years of each other. The main difference is that neither of them is expected to be responsible for the other, so if a note to school is required, they both get to take one and we expect two replies.
It's fairly easy, since they are not identical, but the main thing to remember is that they are individuals and not a set. So if one wants to stop over with a cousin, they can, even if the other doesn't.
Have u started a family yet?

Richard, they are quite definitely different but I wouldn't necessarily say opposites.
The eldest (by all of 3 minutes), L, is very caring and usually defers to his 'younger' brother, J.
L is right handed and J is left handed. J is v creative, L is v verbal.
Both will stick up for the other and neither seems afraid to take on serious odds. On one occasion L had a falling out with a much older child (about 8) in a playground and J was in like a shot, fists flying. Unfortunately for J the other kid's older brother turned up and it needed a rapid parental reaction to stop someone getting hurt.
J will help me fix the car while L is happier helping about the house or just talking.
The other day we drove past a car parked on a grass verge and L talked for 5 minutes making up an incredibly intricate story woven from things he has seen, starting from and finishing with the car.
All of which is good on the whole, I think.
I love Mondays.......

!!!
My 8 y.o. goes back to school after 65 hours solid of his company the house is so quiet and my head gets a chance to get back to normal.
I made the huge mistake of having 3 kids in 6 years then going 10 years and having another.
