I like this theme...
What about the gospel according to Kylie?
BTW Are you talking about the most famous person according to people alive today, or alive throughout the history of time?????

I think Jesus Christ has to be the most well known. After all, it's 2000 years since his death but he's still known and remembered. Can't say that about many people.

You're all wrong.
The most famous human ever will be Eric Nibblewimple.
What do you mean you've never heard of him?!
That's because he's yet to be born. But what a life of inspiration it will be.

How funny you should start this thread as only last week I was discussing this subject with my Mother.
My Mother was born the same day as Elvis Presley (8th January 1935), I share my birthday with Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin (although they were born a few years before me in 1809). This led to us discussing which of these people was the most famous?
Presumably it is totally dependent on how well eduated people are - everyone should know about Lincoln and Darwin, but I suspect more people will have actually heard of Elvis.

Jesus maybe known to many, but did he ever live?
The most famous human ever?
Ragazza Posted Jan 18, 2002
He definitely lived! Jesus as a historical figure has never been doubted, the only discussion is whether or not he was actually the Son of God.

Yeah, never been doubted as a historical figure. But is that perhaps a mistake?
Sidharta has also been dead for quite a while.

What I meant is that jesus has always been considered a real figure, even by the ones that doubt his claims of being a messiah. But perhaps we have taken it a bit for granted. There is a book out discussing the case for wether he was a real person or not. I haven't read it, but it probably is quite interesting. But of course all this belongs somewhere else.

Ragazza Posted Jan 18, 2002
Oh ok. I think I'd need some convincing to be made to believe that Jesus was a complete fabrication but like you said, this discussion belongs elsewhere

Remember that band that made a song where they sang "What would she look like withe chimney on her...". I saw an interview with the lead singer who was a real bitch. You just wanted to slap her. One of the things she was asked was what her goal was and she said to be as famous as the sun. They asked if she thought that was going to happen and she said of course. I am very happy that she seems completely forgotten now

I'm not sure who Michael Owen is, but I've certainly heard of the Queen and Elton John. So that's one famous British person!
The most famous human ever?
Xanatic Posted Jan 18, 2002
Yeah, who is that Michael Owen guy? And isn't the Queen in most countries famous as "The British Queen" without anybody having any real idea of more than her title and name?

What about JFK? Mind you he may have been eclipsed by Princess Diana.

Ragazza Posted Jan 18, 2002
I'd say Princess Diana is one of the more famous Brits. Michael Owen plays for Liverpool football club. I don't think he's very famous outside of the UK

Michael Owen is a footballer.
I would have thought David Beckham, George Best or Pele was more famous than him!
I would have said Jesus Christ for most famous, from the past.
Current times, Princess Diana.

I think people tend to forget that not everyone knows who Jesus is. I have a friend of mine from China who I have had to explain the concept of Christmas to. She thinks it's all a bit wierd!!. So at least a third of the population of the planet has probably no idea the guy was. Personally I would go with Stefan (Don't it make you feel good)Dennis.
