just saw george on tv , singing 'down on the maginot line' this was followed shortly after by spike milligan dressed as hitler playing the ukulele singing 'mr woo' and getting a custard pie in the face . it doesn't get much funnier than that !

Ah George Formby...
When one thinks of him, one always thinks of the war years and the British pluck in the face of adversity and our desire for a nice cup of tea. What isn't so well known is that several of George's younger siblings are alive and well today, some 46 years after George's untimely death.

Finding that link, in the post up there, to the Formby on Utube has not only made my day, it is without doubt the most interesting thing that has happened since the last time I logged on to H2G2, a year and a few days ago...
