How do they do that? Using ladders?

I don't care whether they use ladders, springboards or mystical levitation techniques as long as they pay cash up front for the kennel smiley - winkeye.

yer, then I gues that most creatures are only ever one race or species, but one thing that I learned is that you can have more genetic relationship with a person that is difrent in skin colour that you can with onother person of the same skin colour, which totaly thoughs race as humans out the window.

Hmmm,

Has anyone read any Zecheria Sithcin? smiley - devil

I think that for those of you who haven't, and simultaneously can have an open mind about the whole topic would find him interesting.

What exactly would one have to do to demonstrate an open mind in this context? I've read some Sitchin, but I've also looked at quite a few of the source texts he quotes so I fear that may disqualify me.

How does that disqualify you. I'm curious.??????????

In any event I think that at least the idea he proposes, and attempts to defend is interesting. And being slightly impish, I thought I'd throw out the bait and see who took it. No one in this forum has realy taken a step back from the bible as the only point of reference for this discussion.

In any case, let's swap sources. I'm intrigued.

Sitchin put forward the idea that the human species was genetically engineered a while back by aliens who wanted some moderately intelligent slave labour to mine for gold. In principle this isn't quite as ridiculous as it might at first sound, as there are a few quirks in the human genome and oddities in ancient literature and art which are very hard to account for. However, Sitchin takes some huge liberties with the data (ie Bible, Qur'an, Babylonian epics etc) and in many instances it and other people he cites flatly contradict him. I've only read one of his books - I seem to remember it was called 'The 12th Planet' or something similar - so maybe he got a bit better in later ones, but the first was full of smoke and mirrors. I particularly disliked not just the use of selective quotation (which is pretty common), but the use of ellipses to leave out chunks in the middle of quotes which would be detrimental to his claims. He also had a habit of interpreting key illustrations without including them in the book while including ones which didn't have anything useful to say. If memory serves one Sumerian image was supposed to show a person wearing a flight helmet being medicinally treated with radiation - if you were making such a claim wouldn't you include the picture?

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with the presumption that Genesis is based on earlier accounts - in fact I alluded to it in a previous post - and there are some exceptionally strange aspects of Sumerian culture which pose very interesting and difficult questions. I just think it's a shame that he rode roughshod over all of it in his unwavering zeal.

I looked up Sitchin, after your comment.
Found some interesting stuff about the orgin of man.
Site I visited stated that the people that were used as slaves were a combnation of a native animal (some ape, I suppose) and the aliens DNA.
This would explain the absents of Darwins missing link.
thanks for the info

Darwin´s missing link will never be found. No matter how many fossils you find of creatures that are human and ape like, people will still claim none if them is transitional. The only missing link that could convince people would be a gorilla with a human head or something similar.

I haven´t heard of that guy you mention. But I´ve often heard that slave theory. I haven´t seen anything to indicate it has happened though. But there are some things that could seem like we were visited by aliens in the past. Though they wouldn´t have created man or mated with him/her. But maybe educated him in some ways.

I don´t know if it is true you can be more genetically different from someone with your own skin color than another skin color. But it could well be true. That doesn´t mean that races doesn´t exist though. That would just mean skin color wouldn´t give an indication of what race you belonged to.

It's all getting a bit intellectual for me so i thought i might tell a joke.
Any female researchers probably shouldn't read it.

Adam is feeling a bit lonely so he talks to God:
'God,' says Adam, 'thank you ever so much for this wonderful garden. It's really great and everything, but...'
'Yes?' says God.
'...well it's just that I've been feeling a bit lonely recently and wondered if there was any chance of you making me a companion of some kind.'
'Ah, yes,' says God, 'not to worry Adam. I've been working on a companion for you on my days off. She (I call her 'she' for she will be 'woman') will be a great comfort to you and be with you whenever you desire companionship. The only problem though is that it will cost you.'
'How much?' asks Adam eagerly.
'I'm afraid,' begins God, 'that in order to make your companion i will need your right leg, your left arm and a testicle of your choice.'
'Hmmm...' says Adam, 'what can you do for a rib?'
And the rest, as they say, is history.

Sorry.
I don't set out to offend.
I told the above joke, not because I'm sexist, but for comedy's sake.
Apologies for anyone I may have offended.
