The worst Song Ever?

I'm glad to see someone else hates "Wonderful Christmas Time", too. And for the same reasons- I hate Paul McCartney almost as much as Xmas.
And yep, I also hate Black-Eyed Peas, Basement Jaxx, and anything similar. Good to hear some other people mention them.

At the moment I hate the awful bicycle song by Katie Melua. Probably because it's played to death.

I started this thread in my journal: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F113526?thread=616264 "Songs where the middle eight (instrumental, break, etc) is better than the rest of the song" Wonderful Christmas Time features; I like the angelic 'ding dong' voices. I find them beautifully haunting. The trouble with PM is that he gets loved up and (IMO) this affects his songwriting.

Well, I never thought much of PM even when he was in that 4-piece band he started off in, whatever they were called.
Then again, I like XTC.
Current worst song ever...that one by Coldplay.

Paul McCartney sucks!
Frog Chorus?!
Almost all of Wings' output (bar Live and Let Die, Maybe I'm Amazed and Band on the Run)?!
Everything he did in the 80s?!
...AND 90s?!

STOP this Paul McCartney abuse at once!! It's immoral and against the House Rules! (Probably).
I take it all back re. earlier comments, I now think that new Barbra Streisand one with the Bee Gees making those ridiculous sounds has to be one of the worst records of all time.

Come on man!
Macca may well be a sacred cow in terms of history but the stuff he cranked out post-Beatles was rubbish.
Don't even get me started on Lennon!
The worst Song Ever?
Natalie Posted Oct 24, 2005
No! 'Let Me Roll It', 'Maybe I'm Amazed', 'Let 'em In', Paul is great! And yeah some rubbish stuff sometimes but I think he should be allowed.
I think Lennon did a lot of rotten stuff as well - that stuff about leprechauns for a start. But good lord - 'Instant Karma' - what a song!

I know. I do like a bit of John really!
Fab Macca just needs to remember his legacy and get back to doing all the mental stuff he did at the tailend of the Beatles...She Came In Thru The Bathroom Window for example.

I didn't mind his last single...had a nice minor chord running through it.
I'm with you on his Beatles stuff though, I think I probably prefer the 'Paul songs' to the 'John songs.' I especially love 'Getting Better.'

Natalie Posted Oct 24, 2005
Yeah I shouldn't really have used this thread to introduce the new hardline House Rules re. the 'thumbs aloft machine.'
