When I hit 'reply', it was Dido with "Here With Me", but now it's Madonna with "Vogue".

OK I called Blink 182 nu-metal. I don't even know for sure what nu-metal is, but I DO know what punk is, and Blink 182 aren't it. Loud guitars and shouting down a mic does not punk rock make.
To quote the guys themselves "Rock - it's what we live for", so I guess that makes them rock . Who cares?

hang on, hang on, hang on, Psycho Chicken!
Let me clear this with you.
Nu metal is stuff like Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and korn. It normally involves a guitar riff that you can't understand and some bloke screaming obscenities down the microphone at the top of his voice.
Blink 182 are US pop-punk. This is not the same as the 70's/80's UK punk, like the sex pistols. It's basically hi-energy testosterone fueled rock music, very popular with teenagers...

Like I said - they're rock. I personally don't care very much which label they like to wave around.
You seem to be taking this awfully personally. Does it matter to you which label they carry? Does that affect whether you like them or not? What's the big deal?

The deal is that nu metal sucks, and punk rocks!
Nu metal is for those who have little or no talent (sorry if this offends anyone, but it is just MY veiw...) and punk is for those with mucho talent.... well, perhaps except for the vocalists....
