Stoats are like weasels, but they're weasely told apart 'cos they're stoatily different.

A saying by her head teacher to my daughter who hated the amount of messing around by other kids at school (she was a bit of a swot, but it paid off)

"Why scratch with the turkeys when you can fly with the eagles"

That really inspired my daughter - and me, when she told me it.

Not necessarily an inspirational quote as such, but it helped me.

I was telling someone about my life and how bad it was (teenage angst! it wasnt that bad.) I was going on about how it was horrible and everything was wrong.

He got fed up with me, understandably, and said...

"So do something about it"

The most inspirational words I had ever been given. So now if something isnt going right, or Im not happy about it, I do something to change it.

That's reminiscent of my favourite JFK quote: "The best way to predict the future is to invent it."

Reminds me of another one i've heard, not sure where though:
