So which version is best then?

Hi all, just thought I'd try and go all controversial on you for a second. To all you Hitch Hikers out there, which version of the series do you think is best? Be it Books, Radio Series, TV (oh dear) or any other incarnations I wasn't previously aware of?

Glad I aint the only one there. The books kicked arse too though and still do!

I've not had the good fortune to here the Hitchhikers original radio series.
That leaves me with the wonderfully/woefully low budget TV series Vs the books. So I guess it's the books even though I think there is alot about the TV version to love.

Same here - I've not heard any of the radio series (too young!!) but I do remember the tv series and have obviously read the books. Would have to go with the books for my favourite version - and am counting the days until the movie is released! Towel is ready to go

I know there are the CDs but since I've read the books and don't have much money to spare they're not an *imediate* priority.

Skip food for a week.
The radio show rocks!
The books pale next to it.
It is classic radio and classic sound effects.
The theme song alone is worth the money.

To the unenlightened:
The radio series currently sells in places like HMV in three sets, Primary, Secondary and the newer one recently broadcast on Radio 4, Tertiary. Last seen going for around £15 each and if that fails I have all of the lot and my dad has a CD burner....

Personally, I think the best edition/version has to be the limited edition towel version, wherein the guide books were on a set of towels, that built into a unique collection, the beer mat version was also quite good, though my copy got beer stains on it

Traveller in Time on the headphones
"I can not decide yet, I first have to listen to the radio episodes a few times. Then we will have to wait for the next television episodes. And if we live long enough to see the movie series completed . . .
Does anyone have a spare umbrella? "

If any feels like burning a 'back-up' copy of the Hitchhikers radio shows for me to look after in perpetuity they are very welcome to do so...
