Its a popular miconception around my way that because i'm five foot nothing blonde and weigh about eight stone that anybody can pat me on the head.
I used to get told "Them what asks don't get"!!! this is patently ridiculous.Along with "What you don't know can't harm you" I am not personally accqainted with any anacondas and yet I'm sure any passing one would not check in his 'people I know' book before attacking me

When I was little, any time I told sombody that I was bored I was always told "only boring people get bored".
This always eartated me because if someone never got bored they would probably be really boring. think about it, if you can sit and stare at a wall for four weeks and not be bored, how much fun would you be.
I think the saying should change to "How bored you are is not related to how fun you are or are not".
That's catchy, I think that could catch on.

my father was always saying that to me.the generation gap was so yawning that I was unable to explain that although there was gardening washing the car, looking up things in the dictionary for the sunday crossword and the sweeping of leaves for the bonfire to do ,it wasn't my idea of fun. I wanted to go stock car racing, deep sea fishing or paragliding, be allowed out on a school night to the youth club disco and see Tottenham play somewhere other than on the television!!!!
my dad seems far more fun now when I go back to visit with my kids whilst I have suddenly discovered gardening!!!!

Well hello there Murphy, you noxious old fart.
So it seems you've finally reached the toxic level for the ingestion of jelly-donuts? And you're hallucinating to the extent that you've managed to convince yourself you're thin?
Nevermind. Still, tis sad to think the demise of the great whales could have been averted, had you been born a hundred years ago; there's enough oil secreted from the glands in the skin of your bulbous nose, alone, to have powered the lamps of Victorian England...not to mention Europe, the East...hell, the known world.
Any luck in your family's attempts to get you designated as a natural resource yet?

I personally don't like feminists very much, and I'm allowed to say that because I'm a female and I could take any feminist out there! I KNOW I can't parallel park... neither can I bench press my body weight (I max out around 22 kgs), and I think that no female should play on a male athletic team, and I also think that women should stay off of the PGA tour (doesn't GOLF mean: "Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden"?) Anyway, I'm rambling, so I'm going to shut up now.

I can also whip any feminist out there...excepting the ones that are really butch or carry truncheons...and the ones that are angry about everything...and the ones that despise anything smacking of a resemblance to male genitalia...and even really effete guys...any guy actually...but, I can kick the butt of most cats, save the really big S.O.B.'s.
Senwad only posted on this thread to insult my good reputation. He doesn't realize that I gave that up once my credit card payments were past due.
I'll say this for 'wad; he's got a Zulu's command of the English language and damned if the Zulu doesn't want it back. If you want any proof, go to his web pages and read his gabble. Most disagreeable, I must say.

More misconceptions;
It does not snow a lot in Denver Colorado.
The winters are rather mild compared to everywhere but the extreme Southern US.

I know about Welsh weather. We went there for our holiday in September, spent more than a week there, and it only rained a couple of times.

I really hate it when people indicate that they think Schizophrenia is the same as Dissociation Disorder (aka Multiple Personality Disorder). While I was at college doing Psychology I heard about a jerk who bet £50 that it was!

Arrrgh yes! Me too!! I studied psychology at A level and now I can't help but thinking "you're wrong!" whenever somebody says that schizophrenia is about having a split personality!

Okay, I have a popular misconception: that in Hollywood one can hardly move without bumping into movie stars left and right. I am originally from near Hollywood, and I can assure you that there are normal people there too. In fact, the movie stars are hard to find. Although my mom swears that she saw the back of Don Knotts' head as we were heading to our car after a show…
Another misconception is that California is sunny all year round. In fact, it is oppressively hot during the summer and fall, then it gets cold and cloudy or rainy for the late fall, winter, and early spring. Sure, it's not as bad as many places, but it's not perfect, either.(But it's certainly not flat.)
