You see, in all the friendly intimimacies I've seen here so far, notwithstanding the innocence of it all,
(though monsy did seem to give wowbagger something he'll not soon forget)
the tendency has been to- stick to the opposite sex. How innocent is a foot massage, then?

Am I again trying to analyse things too thoroughly, thus nipping the abovementioned intimacies in their respective buds?
Should I then do something to counter that movement?

Onto Pres' question/conversation starter: I have no qualms about giving a man a foot rub - in fact I've done it quite a lot. I've given plent of blokes massages and, while it's never worried me, hairy backs still make me squirm (but that could be considered an entirely different topic anyway - as hairy backs make me squirm no matter what the gender is. )

don't worry, hairy backs tend to make me think as well
as for giving a female a massage, yes, i would and i have done so before, it is just that it is soooooo much more fun to perform a massage on a male if you know what i mean
