One day the Sun will stop and we'll stop with it (unless, as is likely, we've stopped a long time earlier). All we are and all we do counts for nothing. All our knowledge will be lost. All our creative endeavours will never be experienced by another. Our scientific understanding will be forgotten and help no-one.
But that isn't actually a reason to be miserable. We do art & science because we like creating & knowing stuff. Just for the hell of it. We love it. Carry on creating & learning stuff and during the gaps have a bl**dy good time.
Why not?
