"I was joking about the contents of your wardrobe."
No offence meant Wolfie, but it's hard to tell with you sometimes.

When playing with cards, it is often the joker that is removed from the pack and left alone on the end of the table not being played with. It is a solitary existence, card wise. That said, wouldn't you rather be a queen or a number 2? much more interesting. Personally, I see myself as a 7 of clubs, a midrange card, not particularly special or memorable, but a stalwart of the gaming pack.

Saucy.
No, the wardrobe that has no front or back or ANY way in. (Back a bit, you'll find it.)

Well, I feel referring to the Queen of Hearts as a 'box' is a little judgemental/judgmental*.
*delete as preferred - either are apparently acceptable, although the former should be a 2000AD character.

It's sometimes very difficult to cope with judgemental attitudes.
It's funny that both with/without the e are correct
Poor Diana.
I prefer the Queen of Hearts who baked some tarts

Me too. I hadn't even thought about Diana.
Or whether 'box' would apply to her...

I think that's the thing she wasn't, she was pretty astute when it came to manipulating the press - the whole tears on "Panarama" "our marriage was very crowded" thing was extremely shrewd. At the risk of getting lynched although she did do some good in the world and the death of any young mother of two is always sad I don't think she was quite the suffering little saint that she played so well and she gets made out to be. I bitterly resent the way we were all bullied into mourning her whether we wanted to or not, especially after the Daily Mail used Kurt's death as an excuse not just to have a go at him but his fans too.

Kurt Cobain you mean... You'll have to remind me what the Daily Mail said. Memory's good - but not that good

By the way, everyone, Wolfden's been suspended until January apparently.

Yes it was Kurt Cobain I was talking about. I don't remember exactly what was said I just remember the tone of it. These days I'd just dismiss it as being typical of the Mail's "young folks suck and everyone would be peachy if we take everything back to the way it was in the fifties" attitude but in those days I was a bit younger and going through a bad phase in my life and it just added to my feeling that no understood. I know it's churlish but there was a bit of a feeling with Diana that since a person whose death affected me had been treated so contemptously why the bleep should I mourn someone just because the press decreed it so. A lot of people I know also felt they were cohersed into mourning Diana, one of my mates was annoyed she couldn't celebrate her birthday because of this almost enforced public mourning. It was about a year before anyone felt they could say that the whole thing was overblown and I feel even now that I'm risking a backlash of anger by saying it eight years later.
