[Deep breath for Bela Lugosi impression]
I too... have read it!
Saw Kurt Vonnegut speak not long ago (and DNA less long ago). He was amazing. I'm sure everyone in the audience was mentally sliding towards the stage (Shakespearean stage at Stratford, Ont.) and trying to climb onto his lap.
Regarding long-windedness:
Words are at their best when they convey something more than information. The sparkle of DNA's writing (in my opinion) is that he, like Oscar Wilde, turns words into toys. I am only a gardener. My education is in the soil and the odd phrase scratched on an outhouse wall. But when someone has the wit to turn words into balloons. I can't get enough of them.

there is a difference between being longwinded and boring and longwinded and witty. i have experienced both first hand.

Also went to see James Burke ("Connections") courtesy of PBS. Unfortunately, it was in the winter; and, after working outside all day, I fell asleep almost as soon as I sat down.

I read it...and then some. Teenagers... now there's a discussion that could get longer than "42"! By the by, the graphics were great! How do you get the "blue poop" to spin that way?
