He even had a good nights sleep, unassisted by any sleeping tabs!

The timing's ....inconvenient. I have our AGM today and our work 25th anniversary celebration do tomorrow. But family will step up to the plate.

He's got his appetite back too - can't wait to split a fish supper together later on ! smiley - drool

Sounds brilliant, Bea - a proper night's sleep and desire for real food are really good signs. And having them will no doubt speed up recovery no end, too! smiley - cheers

Last week we seemed to be tripping back and forth to the local surgery a good bit, but things were improving. And he was mightiliy cheered up by the arrival of an MX5!

Saturday morning - district nurse called and had trouble finding a vein to do the INR check. We're keen to trial a home testing kit, which only requires a thumb prick, but the GP isn't so keen on that method.

On Sunday night I was expetcing family for dinner, Dai was in charge of the roast beef, and all was going well in the kitchen. He'd been feeling a bit sore in teh chest, but we didn't know if that was a result of the dog tugging on her lead, or the physical effort of attachinh a mesh screen to the MX5, or shifting the winter tyres on the other car.

He noticed that his chest scra looked a bit red, and was starting to weep. Called the out of hours surgery number, and the doctor on call advised to go to casualty.

My duaghter arrived at this point, so I got her to do the tasxi-ing, and when she came back we had our dinner, and then were able to pick him up about 9, with an infection having been diagnosed. So...more antibiotics, more tests, and of course this will have an impact on his INR.

Yes indeedy thanks for asking!

We were at a charity ball on Saturday - out first big do since the op. We were fully prepared to leave early when he got tired, but were still rocking the dancefloor at 1 am.

He does still tire very easily, and cant lift heavy weights/ pull the starter on the lawnmower etc. But it takes a long time to recover from such a major operation.
