Hawaii is, I believe, the latest time zone in the world.

No, American Samoa is two hours later. So the Eds have until noon on Monday to make the announcement and it will still be this week somewhere in the world.

I can't see them flying out to Samoa on the current BBC Future Media and Technology budget.

At least the latest with a city on it.
for example
when it is 4:30 AM Sunday in Honolulu it is 2:30 PM London time and already Monday Morning 1:30 AM in Sydney.

And 9if they went to Samoa to make the Announcement they would need to do so before Midnight Sunday Samoa time.

If they flew around the world, they'd have an extra day to do it, wouldn't they? (Assuming they went in the correct direction, set off by hot air balloon and took a French clown to accompany them)

it's all relativity. i prefer lower case in any case, i don't like touching that up arrow key at all.
