"How about a badge for Ex-Sub-Editors, at present we see Edited Entries Edited by 'normal' Researchers and only digging into their backlog can reveal they have been Sub-Editor for a while. (If they did not remove all postings from their message center.) "

Although we hardly ever check that account any more, as that one was owned by a former staff member.

*Cough* while you're here Jims, just a suggestion while we're on the subject of badges, how about spliting the Post Reporter's badge into 2, Post Staff and Post Reporters, I don't actually write much these days but I do help get the Post together, those that get the post together but don't write might like a little acknowledgement for their behind-the-scenes work

We're not keen on the idea of any badge that uses the word staff for people who aren't paid staff members as it just gets confusing.

Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic.

Is "Volunteer" any better?

'Post Volunteers' - it is a community paper after all.

'Post Researchers' - for the dedicated content jobbers.

Clive - proud owner of a Post Researcher Badge. smiley - biggrin

"We are all researchers and we are all volunteers. . smiley - erm

I thought 'The Post Badge' was for 'Post Reporters'. While the Researchers at the Office are 'The Post Printers'.

Besides how about the 'Ex-Sub-Editors' as why I revived this thread "

Paully

We're almost certainly not going to be introducing a range of badges for people who *used* to be volunteers - after all, the badges are there to give a bit of extra happy-shiny glowy prestige to people who are helping the site out. It seems a bit odd to have a badge for people who used to help - and then on top of that there's the problem of people who we've had to remove from Volunteer Groups for a variety of reasons. Nah, sorry, Traveller - it's too much of a logistical nightmare I'm afraid. Thanks for the suggestion though! smiley - smiley

"Ok, but you understand what I'm getting at don't you?"

To be honest, Reefgirl, I don't.

One of the big things about the Post staff is that they have always done it voluntarily. Shazz achieved her fabulous reputation through being accomodating and publicising via the Post; not by badges.

Please don't think I'm putting down you or your work: you have done a fabulous job since taking over the Post - as good as, if not better, than Shazz herself. My view of The Post is of completely open and non-elitist, and I hope it stays that way.
