I would suspect it would run in global pre-moderation mode anyway; compared to the likes of h2g2 there wouldn't be a huge amount of traffic... †

The other thing I thought immediately when reading this is that someone could post an obituary for someone who is still alive (presumably if they have some kind of vendetta, making all their online friends and family depressed and so on) - not nice....

And how would you know if someone was dead? I don't know any Guide Researchers IRL, so nobody'd know.

Yes, I could definitely imagine problems with abuse... The only person I know on H2G2 IRL is my (now ex-)S.O.
I don't believe for a second that she would do that sort of thing but I'm probably not the only one in that particular position...
