Having only just recovered from being named one of the Sunday Times' top 50 'diamond' websites, our celebrations continue with the news that the Edited Guide has just welcomed its 5000th Edited Entry. It's apt that the entry in question - 'Kissing with Confidence' (A848685) - is not only a Collaborative one, but also compiled from one of our busiest 'Topic of the Week' discussions ever.
So, please join us in thanking all of the Researchers past and present who have made this possible. 2003 couldn't have got off to a better start!

I think the editors' policy is to present
5 new articles per day (except weekends).
That means 204 new articles per year (i.e. 52 X 5).
Thus, we won't reach 6,000 entries until
January 21 of 2008, give or take a few days.
Sorry, folks. The only way to speed things up
is to increase the daily numbers.

No, wait, I did the math wrong.
It should be 52 X 25, which means
1300 in just one year.

More celebrating!!! And ironically, it is also the first Edited Entry that I am (partially) responsible for!!
I think increasing the daily Edited list might be a good idea. When would we reach 10,000?

Don't forget the additional contribution made by University Projects. I have a suspicion that more Entries per day might mean more Italics - we might be waiting a while...
