I think toast tastes better done under the grill rather than with a toaster. A toaster seems to dry the bread out more - or am I just imagining things? Similarly, I do not like Brevilled toast.
Toast done under the grill provides more scope for making cheese on toast and beans on toast.

BEANS on toast? You don't grill the beans, do you?
Personally, I like to chop up the toast once it's buttered and mix it with the beans (and some grated cheese) in the pan. My little sister taught me that one... Good eating, though!

I agree, under the grill is better, Hey does anyone remember a song about toast? Kind of a funny song from the 70's or 80's I think.
