Clive's brief guide to Qiing...
Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic. Started conversation Dec 5, 2009
Taff wanted to know () why I didn't give him a QI bonus in this thread:
QI - Orinoco
F7180006?thread=7126792
Well that got me thinking about the system I use and so rather than just reply in the forum in a lengthy post, I figured I'd try and show what it is I do and upload that to to youtube and post it back here in a separate thread.
Belying the title somewhat, this isn't intended as an introduction to QI in general, or a presumes to be a "how-to" this is just my way of doing organising the threads I create, if anyone is interested.
So for my first foray into web 2.0 and with nothing else by way of introduction, here we go....

The reason it's in 5 short clips is because, basically, I suck at editing.

Yes, yes, I know. If I had the software, I'd have flipped the frames before I posted it, but I just had to improvise.

No, it was perfectly readable. Learning to read my brother's handwriting has earned me the nickname 'Champollion'.

A crib sheet is a thin very thin sheet of rubber used in baby cribs
to keep the mattress from getting soggy with baby pee.

I noticed that (crib/cirb) but decided to rise above it...

Well, it's quite interesting that you should ask that, tzjin.
Cirb sheets were invented in Aix-le-syd and are based on the latin principle of 'retiems navem'. They are similar to crib sheets in the sense that they remind but they differ in that they allow the user to recognise his limitations and to reflect on his errors.

Interesting journey through googlespace!
The knowledge gained might prove useful if one actually knew how to pronounce it
and was equally confident about how to spell dizzlecksia. Then of course there's the
curious inverse ratio of humour to insensitivity.
Being smart enough to juggle an 8-letter word in your head usually means being
smart enough to realise dizzlecksia isn't funny. Or being genius enough to realise
it really izz.

It all depends on which side of the big red nose you're standing.
Clowns probably find it hilarious. And immensely gratifying.

At long last, I was able to get to a computer that can access YouTube, so thank you, Clive, for the explanation!
