and all on the same ship in the Lighthouse bar. Ya can't get a more interesting bar anywhere in the universe

"Doesn't prevent me from being about 6 hours ahead of you, paulh"[Pierce]
That only counts if time is your thing.

Is time my thing? Yes it is. I don't know how much time will be coming my way so I try to remember to be grateful for each and every moment
As for being ahead of you, I'm not really, of course
Actually we both live in the exact same time, paulh, but distance distorts our perception
It may take the sun 6 hours to travel from Nykøbing Falster, Denmark, to Boston, Massachusets, (or to be more precise for the to turn) and it would take me even longer. Depending on means of transportation it might even take weeks
But if I called you on the phone we could be speaking at the exact same time (well, more or less, anyway)
And you are older than me so in fact you can be said to be way ahead of me

I'm *slightly* older than you, Pierce but I'm still trying to figure out the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
For instance: if I had a cellar, would the penguins hide there?

That's a big if. Polar bears and penguins don't normally come within 12,000 miles of each other, unless they are in zoos. Fortunately, I don't have a cellar anyway.

Where would they hide if there is not a basement ...
I just heard a strange noise from the cabin next door ...

On this ship, they might be frequent visitors to the refrigerator, taking care not to get trapped in it.

We have holds for all endangered species in order to save them. Once is back on track we will set them free again, of course
No hold for penguins yet, they seem to be doing okay for now

It's a good thing these fantastic swimmers are living near the edge. Antarctica is the driest continent of them all

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
