Cabin #17 - Kes's kabin
Kes Started conversation Jul 31, 2001
*After checking many cabins, opens a door leading off the orlop deck*
Aha! Seventeen ... seems like a prime cabin! I'll take this one ... on the port quarter, nicely above the water line.
ALRIGHT YOU LOT! BRING THE PIANO IN HERE ...CAREFULLY NOW!
Right ... over there - against the bulkhead ... thenk you.
*The cabin has a lantern window, with a view strenwards, and a porthole looking out over the port side. The bunk is on the hull side; the piano now sits opposite the bunk. There is a small chart table, a couple of chairs, and shelves along all the walls. A small door opens to reveal a cupboard with hanging space.*
Not a bad berth eh!
*Kes unpacks, and thinks about exploring the ship.*

You allright in here then, matey - or would that be sir? How should we adress you?
Need anything? Just tell it to one of the cabin boys - or girls

Pardon? *Trying to hear P through the door* No, I don't need a dress, thank you ... I hope it isn't one of those voyages! Er ... "matey", or whatever will do fine ... I'll just polish my sextant, and then take a walk on deck ...

Right! I don't intend to step into the crow's nest either ...
*Leaves the cabin, and walks along the corridor, to check out who's already on board ....*

Ahoy! Say, about those music skills of yours. Tommorrow is the 100. birthday of the king of jazz. I was wondering: Could you maybe organize some appropriate music for the event?

A double-Gold Louis ... as it were! Well, find someone with a trumpet ... you hum it, and I'll play it ... D'you think I could slip in a bit of Buxterhude without anyone noticing?

This could get, erm, interesting... Did you know he worked here in Helsingør (Elsinore), Denmark, for many years?

Ah, yes, Hamlet. One of the most unbelievable stories ever. It takes place in Helsingør. And there's not even *one* drunken swede in the cast

Are you familiar with Dr. Johns' "Litanie Des Saints", Kes? Now there's a unique blend of classic, blues, zydeco and what have you!

Dark Mistres compliments Kes on the fine cabin and the beautiful piano situated within. Takes out her saxaphone and begins to play a few bars of "Fever" and "Let there be love"
anyone for a little louis armstrong?
