My dear friends.

I may well not be hear as often as usual in the next week or so. I have elevated levels if monocytes in my bloodstream. My docto9r hasn't explained this yet, but I *did* get at least one tick bite, I have a painful rash on my left hip, and my appetite is not great. All these are symptoms of monocytic ehrlichiosis, spread by the lone star tick, the deer tick, and possibly other varmints. I'm taking antibiotics. I feel like sleeping 16 or 17 hours a day.

Thanks for the good wishes.

Except for a few aches and pains, I feel pretty much okay. My father started down this road a little sooner than I did, and was more seriously afflicted. He needed to be hospitalized for a week. He was so weak, he was barely able to get to the phone and dial 911.

I have another doctor's appointment this afternoon. After that, I'm sure I will lost more blood to tests.

A second doctor took a look at the rash, and said that it's Cellulitis, a bacterial infection that gets under the skin and spreads laterally. So, now I'm on *two* antibiotics.

Never was a tick that couldn't use some improvement in its dental hygeine.

Take care Paul and I hope that you will feel better soon and that once the infection goes your appetite and energy levels will improve.

The new pills are hard on my stomach if I take them with just water. I looked on Google, and found that I can take them with food, so that should help.

Well, thanks, Prof! My biggest issue now [besides the job the pills do on my stomach] is this desire for about 15 hours of sleep per day. It's hard to post online when I'm asleep.
