To start with I would like to know, what you like to do. Do you like travel?
All my life I have moved around, exploring the source of Nile! Beautiful lakes and rivers in Deep Siberia!!
and Climbing Everest Himalayas!
I have been lost in the jungles of New York, and in the caves of Paris!!!
Travelling has been a passion, and I hve learnt to explore new cities, meet strangers and make friends, and have collected lots of tips on travelling. I shall give below some of these tips put togather at random, to help you prepare an undertake international travel.
Travel Tips : Exploring New Cities :

1, Get all information available on line icluding local maps, GPS address, and Satellite city views including important land marks, and routes around the city, read books, write to friends in that city, phone info centres, and announce your time schedule to hotels, travel agents, and local newspapers..Yry to get a talk show assignment, a chat show at the local TV/computer web site.
2. Fix Budget, Time Schedule, Choose Weather in which you’l Travel. Decide on the mood for travel including vacation, business, family(snacks for children for long hauls) or pleasure( sight seeing, shopping, entertainment). Make arrangements for safety and security( Keep in touch with the travel agent office, local representative of your company, Indian Ambassador to the country you are visiting- write a letter to the ambassador requesting to help you make top level contacts the are you are visiting.. Keep emergency cash, money. And help arrangements reeady before you depart.
List all documents, get photocopies, and keep them at safe a place at home, and carry them in your suitcase/ bag separately.
3. Compare Fares, Hotel Tarrif, and On Line city contacts including Budget Travel.com
4. Look at a city for its food, architecture, markets, famous bazaars-streets (knick -knacks and souviniers). Check for local traffic. Wild life. Adventure. And Art museums. Artists, writers, schools, news papers.Underground travel, important Stations. And Night Life.
6. Meet famous people living there, interview them.
7. Keep in touch with outside world through local newspapers, investigate local issues, and brush up on local history, legemds. Music, and traditions.
8. Know exactly what to do if you misplace or loose luggage, robbed, or loose your passport. In a foreign country. ( Inform Police, Contact Embassy, inform you air lines for duplicate tickets/ change in flight schedules. And inform the destination and home contacts.

9.Get in touch with Local Embassies in Delhi, - their tourism Officer and obtain information on contacts, addresses, important monuments, tourist spots, rules and regulationsm travel advisories, and city maps, Get information on tourism promotion organizations, hotel campaigns, and weathe/dress code restrictions,

10. Collect books, films, and travel stories on moving around by hitch hiking, bike, or public transport. Connect from city to city by bus, rail, or air.

Lady Almasy's Dark Dreary Castle on a Dark Dreary Cliff

Post 770

Hapi - Hippo #5

smiley - bigeyes

I wouldn't know.. I am the resident smiley - ghost of Lady Almasy's Dark Dreary Castle on a Dark Dreary Cliff. In a previous life I was a hippo and before that I was .. something else.

oh, and I rememberthat some ages ago I tried to turn the castle into a sleazy tourist trap with a greasy hamburger joint next to it. Lady Almasy didn't enjoy that, neither did she like the bright yellow and red colours I decorated the castle with.
