Hiya,
We want to name a group of people who work on messageboards, DNA sites and other BBC community areas. We need some help! We're looking for a name for the group that indicates the following:
* these people are not hosts, but they will post to the boards regularly - they're there to enter/stimulate discussions, not resolve disputes.
* they're most likely to be BBC employees (a fact, but doesn't necessarily need to be reflected in the name)
* they're experts in one field or another - they may be dancers, or cooks or gardeners or dj's or studio managers or producers, or journalists.
* We want people to know that they are staff, and have a strong understanding/knowledge of the subject area.
* It needs to be an accessible name - nothing to pretentious or superior.
Have you got any thoughts on this? All name suggestions welcome!

I'm not thrilled with these, but maybe they will stimulate a better suggestion:
Catalyst
Synergist
Fomenter

Er... not very exciting, but how about 'specialists'?
Or maybe boffins?!

Excellent suggestions - keep them coming!
I'll try and compile them into an article page later, maybe we can have a vote on them later!
This is really important, so if you can come up with lots I'd really appreciate it!

How about
"Supervising Experts"? Or "SupEx" for short?

I apparently need to state that I am not a Brit. I had no idea that crackerjack would be an unacceptable cultural reference.

don't think it is unacceptable, just a bit funny to brits of a certain age. Didn't mean to upset you
Crackerjack was a kids tv show, every time the host said the name the audience had to shout CRACKERJACK back at them. The kids participating had a bit where they could win all the prizes they could carry. They were asked questions and every correct answer gave them a prize to hold. Every incorrect one gave them a cabbage. The questions stopped when the kid dropped something...

Thanks for the explanation, kelli. And I wasn't upset, just mystified.
