Some of the suggestions are a bit elitist - I guess I still like the unofficial 'bold italics' for h2g2 and hub staff - particularly *because* it doesn't actually mean anything....
This is so tricky!

I'm not sure I'd be too keen on the word guard - it's not exactly fuhrer but not exactly friendly, either.
