There's really only 5 sizes of baby, really.

Premie, small, normal, big, and "holy smiley - bleep that's huge, that HAD to hurt!"

Am I wrong?

Don't ask me. I never tried.

But pushing a bowling ball out that way - yeah, that's gotta hurt. No matter how big it is smiley - erm

Carole Burnett described childbirth as "Taking your lower lip and forcing it over your head."

I'll take her word for it. smiley - laugh

Our national rainfall record was emphatically broken last year. We normally get about 760 millimeters in a year, but in 2023 we got almost 1000.
This year we have already broken the record for rainfall on a January day: Over 50 millimeters.
Lots of flooding on my island and the neighboring island. Many streets and roads are closed.
The rest of the country got tons of snow. A ferry from Norway couldn't get into port, but it wouldn't have been any use anyway, because all the roads from the port were blocked by snow.

On the childbirth thing. It is normal not to remember some things, otherwise no woman would ever want to have another baby. Apparently a certain hormone causes some very specific memory loss.

Weatherwise we have something similar, 795mm on average, 1060mm in 2023.We didn't have as much flooding as we used to, thanks to a 3 billion euros project to increase dike height and the creation of designated overflow areas to give the rivers some room. (It's not just our rain that fills the rivers, we get it from a large part of Western Europe). Yesterday a houseboat broke its moorings after a weir failed. The houseboat crashed into a bridge pillar. They were afraid the bridge would collapse, but it's still standing so far.

You can call me TC

Well, I can't remember any of my babies' weights. I may have had some things blocked out by hormones from the births. I have always said that pain killers are not a good thing - the pain is over in seconds, but if you take drugs to dull the pain, the after effects of those stay in your system for days.

The Rhine is very high here, but not a threat. The danger is further North - towards your way Caiman. The Sieg, Oder and other northern rivers are more threatening.

Sorry, derailing 2legs' journal again.

Back to you, O immortal one.

Still, don't you think you would have remembered if one of your babies had been 5.7 kilos heavy?

I agree that is one of the things that isn't usually forgotten, next to the amount of hours of labour. (Maybe because these things are recorded for future reference, bypassing the hormone thing).
