Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~

I did housework myself plus walked 6 k (7,407 steps) today thereby keeping my daily average of 3.3 k (4200 steps) and might even make it to 4242 steps per day before New Year's but I'm not actively aiming for that

Good to hear about progress. Talked on the phone with my old pal at the other end of the country. He is now in a nice nursing home with heated pool and other good stuff to help him recuperate. He says he's doing fine and hoping to be able to return home in a fortnight or so

I'm not sure that's a good idea, but we'll see

End of diet tomorrow. Will be interesting to see if I am below 100 k now. Since I am 180 cm tall 100 k is almost within reason but 80 would be best and 90 acceptable

I did it! Lost 18 kilos and am now just under 100

That's too little to fight in the class super heavyweight but then I had no intention of joining that sport anyway

My blood tests were this morning too. Have most results back now, all good, esp sodium.
Didnt do much today, but cooked a big stew, which should last days. Around 6000 steps after shops and sDrs.
Phone app in the morning, then gym. Pub in evening too smiley - ale

The soaring blood sugar levels caused by "Sinterklaas" can only be compensated by moving a lot, so I went to work by public transport (and my wife wanted the car), which means 4km by bike, 15 minutes by train, 3 km fast walking.
So far I have managed over 10K steps by lunchtime. In the afternoon I will have to go back the way I came.

My kids gave me a beany with "SIGH..." written on it, for better non-verbal communication their way.

Started cooking veal fricassee yesterday because it is my daughter's favourite and she will come visiting her old man tomorrow - unless she gives birth prematurely of course. But my fourth grandchild is not due until 5 January so we will run risks and take chances and what have you. Daughter has never been frightened of anything - skydiving and climbing ice covered mountains at night included - so I guess she is a mutant. Just like her brothers.
But I digress. Back to cooking fricassee.

Got up to 19K steps yesterday and 'enjoyed' public transport because some old lady decided the satnav wanted her to turn left on a railway crossing, getting herself stuck on the rails. (she survived, her car not so much). Instead of the 15 minute train ride, I had to opt for the 80 minute bus ride (or wait for 4 hours for the trains to resume their schedule).

Does your fridge have ducttape hinges now?

No, tape was one idea.. pushing a heavy toolbox hard up against the door worked fine..

Was too wet to go far today, just popped to pharmacy to get medications, and to grocery shop for a few things.
Fridge freezer shopping and gym tomorrow. Bacon for breakfast, to start emptying freezer..

Good thing I can't be around to help. This virus has robbed me of all appetite. Had to cancel an xmas luncheon today and can't help reopening my old favourite pub either

Hope it clears up quickly, and hopefully it is't too severe.

No gym today, will try tomorrow if its not too wet.

I think I need to get into this cooking lentil thing myself instead of buying pre cooked.

Isn't it interesting how getting new habits is just as difficult as kick old ones? smiley - huh

Using dry lentils works best for stews, soups etc. they thicken it and take up flavour from the stock. Tinned lentils can be useful sfor some things though..

Was at gym this morning. About 5000 steps so far today, not sure if we will walk again today or not..

Busy day today. Planning and shopping. I don't have to worry about xmas but meeting with friends tomorrow, friday and saturday takes tolls

Still above my average of 4200 steps per day, though smiley - ok

I can't think of lintels without being reminded of Neil spilling the twelve portions of lintels he made for his own last meal.

It's especially the red lentils that work for thickening as they fall apart much faster.

439 steps today, but there is still a lot of day to go. (did around 9000 steps on average last week)
