Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~

I made it to 3.85 miles (7.450 steps) today so maintained my daily average of 4.200 steps.

Delighted to learn that exactly one month from now days will cease to become shorter in 2023. At least where I live. It even varies in a small country like mine.

Very true about the calorie intake. I will not stay with the small portions I have gotten used to but will not have as big ones as before either. And food will be leaner. As for drinks I will cut down on alcohol.

Well, I will try anyway smiley - winkeye

Speaking of food my sister the smiley - nurse just mentioned fried liver. I told her I avoid offal because of gout but it reminded me of stroganoff and goulash made of veal hearts which are cheap and never fail to be tender and tasty smiley - drool

I instantly put it on my menu for the days after my diet. That is where I already put lamb smiley - drool

Got myself a new sports/smartwatch thingy this weekend, so that I don't have to count steps all day. (the old one drowned, apparently water resistance deteriorates after 3 years). Got 10895 steps yesterday. Oh, and I went rowing for 10km and cycling for 8km.

Do they make a smart pocket watch yet?

I like my analog watches and I even picked up a classic Casio digital watch recently, (I thought it was a good idea). smiley - cheerssmiley - towel

One of my analog watches need to be worn every other day or so to keep it wound/charged, so I don't want to wear two watches.

...
Heh, I did a quick search and some folks are building their own smart pocket watches. smiley - cool

You could bypass the whole issue by creating a pocket on your wrist.

I may keep my record of 4200 but that's it.

I could go swimming outdoors from our new bathing bridge but I would need at least two strong guys to get me out of the water again should I collapse or something so that's out of the question for now. Definitely would like to try, though

I wear my smart phone in my pocket and it has a built in watch and alarm clock and what have you. Apart from my spectacles I don't need anything else

Except of course when it's cold

Biting frost and hard wind today but also full sun all day (sets at 3:53 p.m.) so will brave weather and walk

There was snow in my garden when I woke up but it was gone from my pavement before I got out. Patience is a virtue that sometimes pays off smiley - angel

So much rain yesterday that my roof decided to let some of it through, so not enough steps. Today is bright but cold. Haven't been out yet because I'm working from home.

Not many steps possible today. Electrician is coming to fix my space heater and I'm not exactly sure when.

But at least I got exercise by shovelling a ton of snow away from my pavement and even my backyard where afore mentioned electrician will have to work.

We got at least 20 cm of snow. 28 cm in a village near me smiley - yikes

Good luck with that. We got approximately 0 cm of snow. (Space has been heated more efficiently around here, I guess)

We may even get some snow here overnight, there was just enough frost earlier to make the pavements slippery, on our evening walk.. 10000 steps today..
An hour at gym this morning. I made bulgher wheet pilaf, with mushrooms and baked cauliflower for lunch. Chicken and red lentil for dinner.. did laundry today too..
Nothing really planned for tomorrow..

Only 3500 steps so far but they must count for more since it's hard walking around without slipping, sliding and falling over

Not many steps Friday, but I did housework, which did a lot of stretching of my chest..
Gym this morning, did 30 mins cardio, thereby achieving my exercise goal as set by cardiac rehab, in under 2 weeks.. lifted weights, including 150 bicept curls as a single set. I think they may want to raise my weight erestriction a bit.. smiley - snork went to pub tonight, it was freezing out, but 9000 steps for the day in total..
