My, it's quiet in here... anyone fancy a pint?
I'm not really here Posted Oct 26, 2003
Nope. From Essex, but I don't like and it's annoying with I'm drinking smaller drinks than people I'm with as I run out too soon, so I drink .

I have to say, I prefer a nice pint of to myself, but the trouble is that not many pubs sell a *nice* pint of cider... and if it's dry cider, I just can't drink the stuff quickly enough to keep up with my mates.

Is everybody off being intrepid, exploring unknown territories and finding dragons? It's soooo quiet here: a select group left behind to keep the bar ticking over.

I must say, it's somewhat gratiying looking in PeerReview and ComingUp and the Scout recommendations page and seeing so many more good geographical entries out there.

*Wanders in clutching a , looks about at the cosy, but sparsely-populated bar.
Comfy sofas in the corner with a roaring log fire: intrepid journals and mounds of travel guides on the table.
Sits down and sinks into the cushions to strike up conversation with Number Six*
It must be your great leadership Or perhaps you tapped into something that a lot of us felt was important, but we just hadn't quite got round to doing anything about?

Yes, I agree
I'm just in a mood to this evening. It won't last, so make the most of it
But whatever the reason for the Geog Soc success, it's sure working and the membership is healthy too.
Mind you, there's precious few of them propping up the Bar. Perhaps all still off exploring, or writing furiously.

Mind you, it's just approaching half past six in the UK - most people are probably in transit between home and work...
I really ought to haul myself out of this office soon!

Hey, we've got four new members... welcome to Gordon, Yael, pointbeing and Mr. Carrot
I've just added everyone to the drop-down list and put the specialisms in... and with that, I'm going to settle down in one of these nice leater armchairs and dedicate the rest of the day to getting over my hangover.

Would that be a celebratory hangover Number Six, or just a normal Sunday morning hangover?
