A Conversation for The Manifesto for the Campaign to rename Thursday, "Thing"

Reasons not to call Thursday "Thing":
* G.K. Chesterton's famous (if not actually very good) novel "The Man Who Was Thursday" would have to be renamed "The Man Who Was Thing", turning a rich slice of British Whimsy in to a Hollwood B-Movie at a stroke.
* The useful facetious response "Only if there's a Y in the day" would lose its potency.
* The god of Thunder would doubtless be miffed, which could be decidedly dangerous.
* Americans' blanket refusal to use the preposition "on" in dates (e.g. "The President will address Congress Tuesday") could lead to confusion and even international incident were CNN to release a report along the lines of "Bush calls Chirac Thing".
Please, think of the children!

Dump the campaign because CNN is to lazy to say 2 extra letters? Nt likely. Anyway, chaos and confusion are our aims!
