Question: Is there some link where you can see who else is online?

Abi. As long as the tickling does not continue for a terribly protracted period I will attempt to endure (and maybe at some random date in the future-prevail).

Yes. If you are using the alabaster skin, it should be near the top of just about every page (I think - I don't use alabaster myself). If you use goo, and your homepage is in GuideML, the code
Who is online?
will give you a pop-up window with a list of all the online users. Failing that, go to http://www.h2g2.com/online

Thanks to everyone for the large 'hello'!
A cup of tea would be most welcome, drop of milk, no sugar, please.

Two questions, if I may?
What is a 'symlpost'?
How do I get a link to work when I type it in? Will adding the http:// before the rest of the address do it?

Are Newbies invited round to tea too? If so, I'll take Earl Grey, milk, and 1 lump of sugar. Along with tea, I'll ask a question too- about how long do guide entries take to be approved, becasue I just made one about my home town. While your answering that, go check it out from my page, I could use some input!

Hi there. I'm not much older than you here and apparently not much more versed in the lore of the land than you. My own experience has been that someone (of greater knowing) will spy your entry and bop over to you about it. Hang in there. I don't know yet that it gets better, but I have noticed that it gets different. Reeeeeal different.

* HE walks back in and grabs his coffee mug marked 'HIS!!!' & proceeds to make it 'Irish' via the small flask contained on his person... *
Ah...that's better

Doreen- A symlpost is when two people post a reply to the same post at the same time. It can make things confusing.
And urls in the form http://www.h2g2.com/ with the http bit turn into links.
Zarniwoop- Entries take varying amounts of time depending on who edits them and what the subject is- ie. they take longer if there are lots of facts to be double checked. They take several weeks, but there's no definitive amount of time. But if you get an approval, its well worth the wait!
Pertyboy- don't be nervous, just keep trying it out, & it'll get easier.
Just a reminder, if you can't see the online users window click here: http://www.h2g2.com/online
