A Conversation for Conspiracy Theories
US Election
The God Pigeon Started conversation Dec 18, 2000
Talk about conspiracies! Our (USA) elections were screwed up. Lets look at the facts:
Jeb Bush is the governer of Florida
George W. Bush wouldn't let the News put Florida under the Democatic list on election day predictions
Katherine Harris works for a company that helps Bush pick cabinent members
Justice Clarence Thomas's wife workers for Bush (Thomas voted to stop recounts)
3 other Justices owe Bush (other one, former president) their jobs
Voting screw ups in Florida
Republicans were allowed to correct incorrect absentballots, Democats had to throw them out
ANY I FORGOT PLEASE ADD!
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest

There's always the fact that Bush's campaing supremo revived a 19th centurt statute banning convicted criminals form voting for life, and over 70% of those banned were blacks (who tend to vote for Gore, but only by a margin of about 97% according to polls). When people found out they'd been stopped form votign and challenged this, it was discovered that large numbers were wrong addresses, convictions not eligible under the statute (such as traffic violations) and so on.

Taking about conspiracies in the USA, the Illuminati theories came to my mind. You might heared of them. Some people believe that the Illuminati freemasons killed the real Georgie Washington and replaced him with their leader, Adam Weishaupt. The person on the one-dollar is him and you can see the Illuminati sign, the special pyramid, on the other side. So the Illuminati are suposed to be the real rulers of the US.
There is a good german film called "23" which tells the real (?!) story of the Hacker Karl Koch who believes in the Illuminati theory available. If anybody is interested.

Your quote by Stalin is EXACTLY why the machine count should be used and NOT manual recounts. Thanks for supporting the U. S. Supreme Court's decision.
Also note that we are talking about an average of 1 out of every 67 people generating an error vote. The only thing that made it a big deal is that by using optical scanners that had an error rate of .3% only in some counties, those folks had a better chance of their vote counting. Had everyone been using the same machine, of either type, it would have truly (statistically) represented the will of the Florida people.
I was able to watch all the expert statistical testimony by the Yale professor (for Gore) and the Stanford professor (for Bush.) In that testimony Gore's lawyer's projections for the number of votes available to "mine" in their carefully selected, Democratic counties was shown to be fundamentally flawed. The Yale professor's professional reputation was probably ruined by the combination of Bush's lawyers' cross examination AND by Gore's lawyers' failure to present him with all the data before the hearings.
Even after these very public hearings, news organizations such as MSNBC continued to use the flawed Gore projections as a reason to justify further manual recounts, as if the facts presented in the hearings never existed. Now, remember who David Boies is? The Microsoft trial? What does "MS" stand for in MSNBC? Call this a counter-conspiracy theory!

On the other hand, the winning margin was less than the acknowledged margin of error in the counting machines, as specified by their manufacturers, so on that basis the election should have been declared a dead heat.

I never understood why only Florida votes were disputable, what about the rest of the states? Why didn't they recount over and over again. I mean, it's obvious having in mind Bush(es) backgrounds in Florida, but what's the official explanation? I kind of missed that bit...

Hmm. Boxes of votes were found missing, blacks were prevented from voting, and voting machine messed up.
And Gore still won the popular vote by 1/2 million. Any moral president would have stepped down, or at least called a re-election. Oh wait, we're talking about George Bush here, funded by the energy companies, lying to the people.

I think as ever the answer is in the question: "any *moral* president"

The first world war made loads of money for US and British industrialists. So much so that Remmington, Vickers and Du Pont were accused of attempting to prolong the fighting.
Prescot Bush (Dubya's Grand Father) worked in a very senior position for the pro-nazi/Eugenics Harriman Empire, and was instrumental in ensuring that Hitler had all the financial aid he needed to gain the support of the German people.
Hitler consolidated his power with an act of terror against his own country.
Following the war (early 50's) the CIA was in effect taken over by what was known as The Gehlen Organisation (Thats the bit of the Gestapo that covered Eastern Europe, ran by Reinhard Gehlen)
Dubya's daddy was head of the CIA for years.
I wonder where Dubya(or at least the capitalists that control him) got the idea for 9/11?
