Please help me out here. How exactly do we do this? Do we vote for a first and second choice?

Your question implies some sort of formal plan to the voting! It's much fluffier than that. Just vote for the dates you like. If you don't care much then don't vote at all, just wait for the surpise of finding out.

I have no idea what I'll be doing in 6 month's time, I don't plan that far in advance! So at the moment I can make all of the suggested dates.

Ahh but when you have nowt planned yet is the best time to arrange something surely ? Then in 6 months time if something crops up, tough, youve already planned to be at the meet!

Also I think it might be a good idea to advertise it as h2s 8th birthday party rather just another meet..may attract more attention, even newbies.

Once all the Halloween anagrams and changes have been finished with, perhaps people could add something to their names? I won't close the voting threads until the 1st December so there's a month to get people over to the page and decide on the date. After that we can set about recruiting people who don't much mind about which date it is.

Also, until the voting is over we don't know it's a birthday meet. It might end up being closer to Towel Day after all, another traditional h2g2 event.

One of the reasons I voted for the 28th is that HooToo isn't a DNA fan site* so our 8th anniversary would be more relevant than Towel Day.

Also it would mean people can do both.
