*Puts down her broom.*
We have a wonderful cat living with us, called Whiskers. She came to us from the Cat Protection Agency. She is 11 years old and has had a rough time during her life. When the Agency got her they discovered that her back knee had been bashed around to the back side of her leg. The accident apparently had happened years before, because it had healed as best as it could like that, to the point where arthritis had also set in. They operated on her and moved the knee back where it belongs. We give her pain meds for the arthritis every other day, and she hobbles around just fine now.
The best thing about Whiskers is her loving personality. She believes that a lap without her on it is a wasted lap! When Kes plays his piano she comes and sits on the bench next to him, and occasionally voices an opinion. She doesn't like to eat her dinner without us there, so very politely waits until we are seated before she begins hers. She is laid back, gentle, and so affectionate. We were so lucky to have her come into our lives.

*Pans' blue goo couch drifts into the clean pub, followed by Caer*
Hey mari-rae, you left your zimmer frame behind!
*as the couch comes to rest in it's customary position, she takes the zimmer frame off and hands it to mari-rae*
Whiskers looks so cute. Cassie came from the RSPCA her previous owners said they couldn't give her enough attention, she does get very bored and meeeuuuuuws loudly until you play with her. But at this time of year we only catch glimpses of her at eh end of the garden or at meal times as she is off out being Adventure Cat!

*Throws green beanbag into the corner by the window*
Hi all,
We've just had our first expedition to the vets for jabs, and have returned safely!
The kittens are settling nicely now, only one more week and they can go outside and I can open my windows properly again!
No pix of them on the web as yet - will have to sort that when I get chance.

*floating in, in her usual vague, elf-like manner*
Oh my, how time flies - August already?
*floats into the kitchen and returns with a big jug of orange juice*
*gets a big bottle of *
Mimosas anyone?

Hypatia Posted Aug 2, 2004
I'll have a mimosa, please.
I just love cats. How long have you had her, mari-rae? She's beautiful.
I think I've already admired Cassie.
*considers taking the beanbag, remembers what happened last time, and heads for her table in the corner*

Taking my beanbag where, exactly?!
The cats look lovely. I'll have to sort out one of those photo-web pages, like the hootoo friends one, I suppose, for the kittens. I'm not going to suggest a hootoo pets one, though - the workload would be too much!
Makes . Too hot for at the moment!

I'd love a mimosa!
Cassie is a beauty, Caerwynn! Do you realize that your wedding outfit matches Cassie's fur??!! Just lovely!!
*Unpacks her zimmer from the back of her broomstick... * Betcha didn't know I had a baggage compartment on it, did you?!!
Hyp, do we call you Hyp now?

Hypatia Posted Aug 2, 2004
I'm currently undercover whilst plotting an unfortunate turn of events for an unpleasant person I am forced to deal with. So many folks called me Hyp or H anyway, that I figured everyone would know it's me.
Lovely mimosa, Ti. I'll have another.

*bungles in with comfy canvas camp-cot and sleeping bag, with blank look on face from jet-lag*
Hello all - good to see you again. Can I park off here in the corner for a while until my brain resolves the issue of whether it's on Orlando time or Johannesburg time?
Ok? Thanks...

mari-rae Posted Aug 3, 2004
*Whispers...* He's not talking about Tony Orlando, is he??
*Goes to her rocker and on the way she becomes entangled in Pandora's long thick hair.*
You'd think that would wake her up, wouldn't you??! What a 's nest! I'm tired of all this hair all over the place. Where's my sewing scissors? The big pair??

*edges away from mari-rae*
Couldn't we just put her hair in a snood or something?
Jo'burg time is the same as UK isn't it? I used to get jetlag only when travelling from east to weat, but now I get it both ways
I'm sure several would help.

Mari-rae! There's a pair of scissors on the bar ... been used for bacon rind removal and lemon slicing, but still sharp ... in places ... What style were you thinking of giving Pan?

Whiskers is a lovely cat. Here's a cool, virtual kitty:

That's so cool! Thanks!
*Is unable to find her sewing scissors, so picks up the scissors from the bar and hobbles over to the Blue Goo Couch. Studies the sleeping Pandora, trying to decide where a good place to start chopping might be...*
I know! I should have a nice large first to clear my head and allow the creativity to flow. Or two.
