Ok here's one for friday 13th july 2001,
John, James and Jessie all went down to have a picnic by the river, when they got there John accidently knocked James and Jessie into the river and they were never scene or heard of again, John ran back home and told everybody what had happened, but nobody went the rescue them, why not?

they were crawdads!(or crawfish, or crayfish)
everyone had thought they were human, but they were ACTUALLY aliens and the reason no one did anything was because they "accidently" arranged to get knocked into the river just before the Earth was destoyed by the Vogons!
