Yes, yes - I will be adding more details once I've got the photos developped - but it was great, just great. I would have loved to stay another week, and not just one week.

Mountains and ocean - ah, to live by the foot of a mountain, on the shore of an ocean...
Loonytunes once told me I'd be able to find such a place on New Zealand - I've forgotten the details though

I have always wanted to see the Alps. Lucky you. Mountains really are wonderful.

Ocean at the foot of a mountain? May I recommend Provence? Just been, it was lovely too...
Assuming all 'fnurror' with mamma are straightened out then?

Or go to Teneriffe, where an over 7000 m volcanic mountain raises from a dept of 4000 m to 3718 m above sealevel.

Photos:
The village of Bad Gastein is situated at one end of a valley, some way up a mountainside at a height of around 1,100 metres (3,600 ft). Any which way you go, you'll find yourself walking either uphill or downhill - tough on the calf muscles!

There are several waterfalls in the area (and several hot springs). One of the waterfalls flows right through the village.

One day we took a gondola lift halfway up the Stubnerkogel - here's my mother during a 'drink water and catch your breath' break.

View from the top of Stubnerkogel at 2,245 metres (7,365 ft).

And here, where a member of our group admires the view. The prettiest flowers were actually the smallest ones (you can see some yellow ones in this photo), but unfortunately I can't zoom in close enough with my camera to get a good picture.

And me! I usually wear glasses, but here I'm wearing contact lenses in an attempt to get rid of the white lines left by the frames - it's almost unbelievable how much the sun burns at high altitude.

My mother is 68 years old, but she doesn't look like it, does she?

No, she doesn't. My mom is 84. I guess I expect everyone's mother to be as old as mine.
Some people stay young looking. Unfortunately, not my family. Most of my family members live into their 80's and 90's, but we don't look 20 years younger than we are.

My mum is almost 86. I saw her on tv tonight
She doesn't look any older than 70!
I went to Austria with my school when I was 15. I remember how crisp and clean and beautiful it was. It's a place I've always wanted to return to and never had the chance.
One day!
