*jogs into a brand new journal thread wearing one red sock and five white ones*
My Sport Relief (http://www.sportrelief.com) pack has arrived so it's time to get down to some more serious training. The idea this time is that I a timed mile in Roundhay Park, Leeds on Sport Relief Day (10th July) and collect sponsorship money for doing so. When I've run the mile they'll give me another red sock to prove that I've done it. Personally, I think they should give me an additional five socks but that's probably just me .
The most observant and least drunk amongst you will notice that July 10 is also the date of the h2g2 meet in London. Obviously, I won't be attending the meet but I'm going to take advantage of the coincidence by asking those attending the meet to sponsor me and to give their money to Ormondroyd U95721 who will have my sponsor form with him.
If you're going to the meet and would like to commit yourself in advanced to sponsoring me - or if you have other means of getting sponsorship money either to Ormy or to myself - please post in this thread and I'll write your h2g2 nickname on my race number as one of my 'Mile Mates.' So, in a way, you'll do the mile with me. And you get to drink while you're doing it. Who could say fairer than that?
I was about to say that you won't go all red and blotchy either but that probably depends on how much you drink.
If you'll excuse me, I'd better go and practise.

*puts her Team Ant t-shirt out for the wash, ready for 10th July*
Hopefully H and I will be at the meet, so will drop some coins in the bucket.

Caer, I have saved some of the sponsor money you sent for the Race for Life because I thought you weren't going to the meet. I'm confused now . Let me know what you want to do?
Lil, I don't have a PayPal account atm. I'll think about opening one but I'm planning some more Team Ant events next year and perhaps that will be a better time to make arrangements for overseas sponsors.
DrMO I'd ordinarily be delighted to take your money but you've just moved house so is a large contribution wise?
I hope you find a flight, Titania. Ormy is a founder member of Team Ant and has kindly offered to collect for me. Surely you've met him before at one of the meets?
I'm trying very hard to improve my speed. I seem to be able to run for ever and ever at one set speed but as soon as I try to go faster I run out of steam very quickly.

I am happy for you to give the money to which ever charity you want to. It isn't entirely certain about the meet yet, anyway.

When I want to go faster (you can laugh) I call a bunch of jiberish that sounds not unlike japansese, and seem to beable to put the extra in, but bikes are easy like that.
I think it's wise since I can hardly aford to feed myself at the moment, by the time 10th july roles round if I contribute 20 GBP (stupid keyboard us setting) it'd mean more than if I could probably aford it, and money is like sand to me always slipping through my hands, if I can give it to usefull causes then I'd make me happy.

Has Ormondroyd got a PayPal account?

I know what Ormy looks like Amy - he stepped up to me and said hi at the latest London meet-up I attended
There seems to be more demand for flights this summer than last summer for some reason - even the infamous Ryanair aren't any cheaper than SAS and BA last time I checked

OK, I give in . I've opened a PayPal account . It uses my business email address - I'll post it on OTD.

Now I've got my head around the PayPal system I've set it up to work with my usual email address too - the one familiar to Artists and Gurus and Ormy.

So I can put your name on my running number, can I Lil?
I've managed to hook up my PayPal account with all my email addresses . It'll come in very handy.
Now it's time for the first half of the footie followed by some training (although it's too hot for running around really) and then back for the end of the footie, a quick meal and then England vs France.

I've got to suffer the Grand Prix.
I think Tea With Mussolini is on another channel, so may go and watch that elsewhere in the house.

I can answer that one in public, Smudger -- personal PayPal accounts are free -- no charge for sending or receiving money. But there are other types of accounts where PayPal charges you for certain kinds of transactions. Those are business accounts, mainly.
