Thanks for sharing those, GB - there's some lovely shots there - the heather and the holly look beautiful, poking through the snow!

Nice photos.
(Personally, I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas which we're unlikely to get. My garden's a dustbowl. I could post a photo of a sunburnt withered dusty hebe, but I won't.)

Thank you Christiane and festive greetings to all my readers. I'm glad you like the photos. I'm not a fan of winter either, Tal, but the next season is Spring, which is my favourite. I especially am grieved for the Magnolia buds which will burn and shrivel and drop off before they can blossom, but it's a sturdy tree and will bud again.
The Chrysanth ('mum' for paily) will not survive, but that is an old pot plant which I planted out, many moons ago, and it keeps reflowering so all last week before it snowed I had a lovely show of summer colour just in front of my bungalow, and just Monday I saw a bumblebee feeding off the hebes.
From my kitchen window I can see a short fence which honeysuckle climbs up and through, and also a few branches of my neighbours' tree which fruits red berries, which the blackbirds love. My Dad loved blackbirds and they loved him. So beneath that, on my side of the fence, I propped up my Dad's floral tribute from his funeral. There's just the frame left now, of course, and yesterday it was completely covered in snow. Today would have been my parents' 68th wedding anniversary had he lived. The first thing I saw when looking out my kitchen side window, was "DAD" etched in snow. The rest of the snow around it had melted away and just left the lettering snow-covered. Quite took my breath away. I'll snap it to show my sister on Boxing Day and add it to my album.

I'll have to look at that when I get home - but I think it sounds wonderful.
This might sound silly to some, but I believe it *was* their wedding anniversary - I do believe in an afterlife, so I reckon they'll still be together...

Your garden still has so much colour GB. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos. The last one was very poignant on such a special day.

I'm afraid all I can do is dream about White Christmases down here. Nice to see pictures from people who have actual seasons! Your garden is full of the real stuff, too, not palm trees and bougainvilleas...
Hope you have a V.M.C., and a happy new year as well.

My first batch of visitors have come and gone, Laura, Karl & Liam brought round Helen and her b/f Lee Introduced Goldie and after being a bit skittish she soon warmed to Helen, as well as loving Lee's footwear Then Goldie impressed Helen with her tap-drinking trick, I thought this was normal behaviour for a but apparently not! I showed the visitors Moonhogg's collage of the Hull crew and they loved it it was fun pointing out all the faces and them being able to (now) put faces to names I told Helen what Gnomon said about the Goldilocks Zone in my kitchen and she
...and I got some fabulouspressies!!
I'm loving the replies to my emailed photo-greeting cards too, I think the world of you all, x7
Tomorrow I'll be at my sister's home and Internet-less, so I'll probably report back in on Sunday; enjoy the rest of the day/holiday
