A Super Furry Animal

I can't see that link, but I'm assuming from the text that Japanese people have fitted an artificial fin to a dolphin?

Pity that they slice the fins *off* millions of fish** before returning them to the sea to die. Just to make the fins into soup.

It's about as endearing as knowing that Adolf Hitler was kind to dogs.

** Yes, before anyone points it out, I *know* dolphins aren't fish. That's not really the point.

I do know this, I wrote this: A13900042

I just thought it was a massive paradigm shift, worthy of note. Maybe we shouldn't tar an entire nation with the bloody brush of the rest of the whalers.

2007 is not only the year of the pig (starting Sunday)
but it's also the year of the dolphin - the 2nd most
intelligent species on the planet according to the
brainsize/bodysize index.

Hi Stephen,
Llareggub "or whatever" is a fictional village in Wales which Dylan Thomas wrote about in his masterpiece Under Milk Wood. You have to read it backwards to see what Dylan was getting at. He based many of his characters, Ockie Milkman, Rev Eli Jenkins, etc. on local characters in the town of Newport in Wales. There's a great audio-cd or tape featuring Richard Burton you might find in your local library.
Now I'm off to peek at you!

Cheers! Have a tinnie on me!

We never read Dylan Thomas at school either. We were languishing with Thomas Hardy, Tennyson and co.
I don't think our conservative English teacher had ever heard of Anglo-Welsh Literature.
