Styx is a good rat. I'm quite fond of him, myself.
*takes a bowl of coconut ice cream back to the rat's nest*
Try it, its really good! Thanks, Sporky, wherever you are!

*eyes glow red irritated*
Don't eat at nest. *pulls and pushes bowl to kitchen* Nest is not for eating. Humans eat in bed not rats! But this is good.
Hey Ant Lady! You making a statement tonight? heh heh heh
*washes face hands and whiskers and has a drink of water*
Leave me alone now.
*goes to nest and starts to gnaw on stick*

The NetPainter will be interesting. After the New Mexico trip, though; I have a little chattauqua to assemble in the meantime, and get the 600 dpi Billy cleaned up...
Odra, glad you made it back!
I think we may all have unpredictable access, over here anyway. I hear there is a run on Napster since the court ruling.

He is a good rat. He has excellent taste in music (thanks, largely, to his owner buddy).

We must play with NetPainter sometime. if h2g2 is about socially constructed knowledge then we should certainly do some socially constructed art.

lt's Napster? l thought the injunction shut it down, though? Has that not taken effect?

Yikes, three way simulpost.
I only just "got" the card
*watches fireflies studiously*
I'm clearly getting naieve in my old age. Along with the tunnel carpals.

The injunction goes into effect tomorrow, I think.
*drinks beer* I haven't had pappadums IRL since 1984. I haven't been to a good Indian restaurant in that long.

*sighs and contemplates the feasibility of giving the court justices responsible their very own little "fireworks display" of the Majic Forest variety, but cheers herself up with a little chicken tandoori*
l feel rather ignorant, l must confess. l've had some tandoori before, and we used to have a nice little Afghan place around here, but l'm a little bit ignorant with all the curry terminology. What do the various delineations mean?
(everything l've been having is delicious, anyway...l'm just curious...)

Only if you need something to write me a letter on. You should be glad I have a reflex to magnify everything to 400%
How many posts have they got to at the F&F? Someone said at the cafe that the regulars were having a toast every time they passed another milepost, was it every hundred?
*thinks of a dreary old song and decides not to sing it*

Oh, it depends on what's being cooked, and what the balance of spices is. They are regional, that is, each area has its favourite.
I don't like very hot curries, myself, but I don't like overly spicy tex-mex either.

We were going to start a new forum at 420 (42*10) but we forgot!
I don't think we can keep going for ever though. Eventually the bar begins to smell and we have to start afresh.

I know what you mean, Amy. I'll be starting #1F tomorrow, to clear out the last of the curry and onion smells, although there are some leftovers. It's something the Colonel was wondering about earlier. With the new architecture, one can go on indefinitely, but it makes a challenging backlog for newcomers. So we reckon to make our threads episodic, instead of picking an arbitrary number.
I wonder if Odra is at napster right now? Probably half the midshipmen at Annapolis are.

That reminds me, Lil. When are you going to New Mexico? I might be able to recommend some places to go. (My SO IRL is from Las Cruces - a town very close to Lincoln County.) Or is your iteniary all booked up?

Well, I've done it. I posted a new thread for the "Aroa Cafe". That's been slowing my posts down, constantly checking back to make sure the bs and ms and ns have "took". I've been complaining about the keyboard on this laptop for over a week. Better get it fixed soon, before I travel.
I get into Albuquerque on Wednesday the 20th at about rush hour, and the only thing I plan to do then is check into a hotel. But then I want to spend the next day and a half wandering toward Lincoln. Old Fort Sumner is one must-do stop (probably on the way back), and I am going to have my eye on real-estate prices as I go. Lincoln on Friday afternoon, there for the weekend. And I have to be back in Albuquerque for Wednesday afternoon the 27th.

Lil, why did you decide to go by train?
1Eth Conversation at Lil's
Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Jul 28, 2000
I must go. The champagne IRl is finished and I don't suppose I can stretch my birthday any further. Anyway, I'm expecting The State Visit of Relatives tomorrow/today (depending on how you look at it) so i had better go and get some ugly sleep.
Goodnight!
*disappears down electrical wires. It's the only way to travel! No problem if you're too small to create a potential difference across your feet.*

Goodnight Amy. Happy birthday!
Witty M, not only do I hate air travel cos I can't afford first class, but I have always wanted to travel across the USA by train. I'm not going the whole distance, but I'm fulfilling a wish. The basic fare is very little, half what it cost me to fly to El Paso last year, but the cost of the sleeper berth is a healthy whack. Like a little under $240 per night, and that's with an AAA discount. But like I say, I'm fulfillig a dream. ing. blast this keyboard.
And I too must retire to get ready for tomorrow. Minoova will clear the table and wash. And I'll make a new thread in the morning before I get on with real life.
Y'all are welcome to stay on, as usual.
*heads for studio*
