Hey, eatsmice! We have one Indian restaurant which is so-so. There is a lovely Thai place however just an hour's drive away. And it is worth the drive! Yum!

*floating in* Took myself the liberty of quoting some of your comments on Flamenco, hope that's OK! Where? Here: http://www.h2g2.com/F49403?thread=67436&post=498695 *drifting off*

Now Thai is something I've never really had a chance to get to appreciate...one day perhaps..
My life revolves around the Indian restaurant GRIN

Hi rothach
pull up a chair, grab some Tandoori Lamb that Lil made earlier and chapatis
Titania did some magic, so just pick up a glass and it'll be filled with the drink you desire
Me...I'm onto Gulab jamun and coconut ice cream

As I was coming in I met a whole bunch of gypsies with their instruments. You had flamenco entertainment and I missed it while it was thundering.
I have also filed away for later conversation the fact that there are horses in Odra's life.
Hallo rothach, welcoe to the salon at the atelier, where we are having a big curry dinner. Draw up a chair and dig in. Minoova, is there more tandoori? Ah, good, I haven't had any yet. Yes, make more chapatis.
Colonel, I'll need to think over the issue you raised before I can determine whether it's a matter of Continuity.

Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than a good curry

Which still leaves unanswered my question. "Was the Last Supper a curry?"

*trudges up the stairs muttering about why people would start a swim meet in the rain, let everybody get wet, get thru 10 races, then call it on account of rain*
Hi, again. Is there any food left?

Ralph Steadman has done a full wall fresco called The Last Picnic.
So, rothach, are YOU there?
This is the one thing about Amy the Ant's security calling cards, of which I have now seen three. After this campaign is over I must find out exact how she intends to enforce security on a thread.
Apropos of nothing in particular except all the Odra beer I'm drinking, I spent several hours in Lakeland's public library, hoping to find pictures of vacqueros and slash or cowboy things of the 1800's. I posted the results at the Billy thread, but am still trying to figure whether those Hispanic fellows actually wore two sashes.

There's plenty, Witty M, I'm just eating now myself, although the rest of the people seem to have moved on to dessert.
Oh, we have fireflies in the garden *pointing down from the veranda*

I *love* Ralph Steadman's work! I always felt sorry for him for all the abuse he took from Hunter S Thompson. (One of my favorite authors, btw.)

Lil, out of interest, have you read Orson Scott Card?
I found him in a bookshop in Miami and bought all I could find of his American (history) series about Alvin

*starts selecting from the delectable array*
*chooses a glass, closes her eyes*
Surprise me, glass. Oooh, margarita, straight up with salt!
Very droll, eatsmice. Hmmmm, if I'm ever in need of an alter ego...

Orson Scott Card, that's the Ender's Game author isn't it? I've read two ender books. But is this nonfiction history you're talking about?
Gw7en, I have a feeling Steadman gave as good as he got in that relationship. There is a wonderful passage in one of the unauthorised bios of HST where the illustrations for Fear and Loathing arrive at the Rolling Stoe offices, and Hunter is there. Steadman did them really large, so they unroll the bundle on the table and everyone is awestruck.
I mean, it wouldn't be nearly the book it is without those saurian holidaymakers in the bar.
Key: Complain about this post
