I like to put butter, lemon and a little Tabasco sauce on mine, wrap in foil, and throw on the BBQ. Trout, I find, *is* a bit blah. The other option is to pan fry it with herbed flour.

Oh I invented a lovely way to cook trout last week! I curled the fillet in a microwaveable bowl, added a splash of white wine, a squeeze of lemon juice, some black pepper and a spoonful of capers. Zap for 1 minute.

I'd have added butter, but that method should be good. Maybe it was a trout who'd had a very dull life.

Did the trout come from a fish farm? I hear things are ~very~ dull on the farm.

I caught it from a stocked lake , if it was recently stocked it would not taste so good , as they are reared with trout pellets [ yuk ] However if it has been swiming around the lake for 6 months or more , it would start to taste a bit better , due to feeding on invertibrates .
Still it does not owe me anything I won an £80 kayak paddle with it
